DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE HALLOWEEN BIBLE BOOK BURNING?

Dear Friends, in Christ,

Wow....Did you hear about the Halloween Book Burning?  A church is going to do just that.  On Halloween, this year, 2009.   Amazing Grace, in Canton, North Carolina, is in the news, for their controversial stance they are going to take in burning books.  I thought well they are going to burn books on vampire stories, or witch stories. Something satanic.  But, what really caught my eye, and is quite controversial, is that they will be burning Bibles.  Of all translations.  Except the King James Bible.  And with that, they will be burning all writings of other Christian writers.  Then after all that, they will serve Chicken, and all the sides.  The announcement is below.  Those thoughts just don't go together.  Wow....talk about, being unbalanced.  The Bible does talk about being unbalanced.  A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.  Proverbs 11:1.  

But it does bring up a few points, I want to touch base on.  Whenever any Christian becomes legalistic, and starts hitting anyone with the Bible.  Run from them.  I am serious.  We are supposed to be known by our Love.  This group is not showing love, to these other Christian authors.  It is sad, because this gives Christianity a bad rap, and most people do not want to be acquainted with us for that reason, because they think we are all radical.  And we are not.  Now, I am adamant about my faith, but I am also a lady, and if someone does not want to hear about the good news, I will walk away.  Thats o.k.  Christ was and is a gentleman, he does not push any agenda down our throats.  Let alone start a fire on Halloween.

So lets talk more about the different versions of the Bible.  Because their goal in burning other Bibles, is because they are not King James Versions.  In their mind, thinking, that is evil.  You have to really look in-between the lines in their message.  But it is very "pharisee" like to me.  Very judgemental, no grace, is extended here.  I have a hard time, with this idea, of anyone, destroying anything, of a different version of the Bible.  The Bible is holy.  But, I am also aware of the scripture, that is in Revelation 22:18-19.  The scripture says; For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book.  If any many shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book.  And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city and from the things which are written in this book.   And I do take to heart, what it says, in the King James version.  But, also because I am a student of the word of God, sometimes, one needs, simpler words to bring understanding, clarification.  I, try not to go past, the New King James, but thats between people, and God.  I don't know how much of the filtering, will distort the truth of it.  But I am aware of it.  So, I am not going to dispute any of this, but it all seems so unbalanced.  That is an abomination to God.

And to destroy works from these authors, who I know, most are God fearing people.  I can't judge them either.  Many of these writers, have helped me in my walk with the Lord.  What I find odd, as well, is that this book burning, is that they are doing it on Halloween.  A day the devil himself is defiant to God.  (Read my commentary below about Halloween.)  And they are breaking the law, the law of the land.  Purposely, defiantly, to make their point.  They will burn these books.  Even though in their county, the ordinance is very clear about starting unlawful fires.   Something is wrong there.  And I don't want to judge, them in this, by not expressing love.  But I do pray for them. Come to our Halloween book burning. We are burning Satan’s bibles like the NIV, RSV, NKJV, TLB, NASB, NEV, NRSV, ASV, NWT, Good News for Modern Man, The Evidence Bible, The Message Bible, The Green Bible, ect. These are perversions of God’s Word the King James Bible.

We will also be burning Satan’s music such as country , rap , rock , pop, heavy metal, western, soft and easy, southern gospel , contempory Christian , jazz, soul, oldies but goldies, etc.

We will also be burning Satan’s popular books written by heretics like Westcott & Hort , Bruce Metzger, Billy Graham , Rick Warren , Bill Hybels , John McArthur, James Dobson, Charles Swindoll , John Piper, Chuck Colson, Tony Evans, Oral Roberts, Jimmy Swagart, Mark Driskol, Franklin Graham , Bill Bright, Tim Lahaye, Paula White, T.D. Jakes, Benny Hinn , Joyce Myers, Brian McLaren, Robert Schuller, Mother Teresa , The Pope , Rob Bell, Erwin McManus, Donald Miller, Shane Claiborne, Brennan Manning, William Young, etc.

We are not burning Bibles written in other languages that are based on the TR. We are not burning the Wycliffe, Tyndale, Geneva or other translations that are based on the TR.

We will be serving Bar-b-Que Chicken, fried chicken, and all the sides.

Thanks.   I hope we remember, to pray for people like that.  But be very careful.  With the churches, and groups, you align yourself with.  God wants us to have the fruits of the spirit, and for us not to turn into religious nuts.
